| The Lawn, Garden and Forestry Expo and Fair ended in 2010 after several successful years. Our partners in the Expo are still featured here and we encourage you to visit their businesses or organizations! Sincere appreciation to those who helped us make it happen at all the Expo events of the Little Kanawha RC&D!2010 Lawn, Garden & Forestry Expo and FairApril 10-11, 2010 The 5th Annual Lawn, Garden, & Forestry Expo & Fair was a sucess. Thousands of people came to see the vendors, speakers and listen to music of local artist. Pictures of the events are posted on the News and Sentinel CU Galleries. The 5th Annual Lawn, Garden, & Forestry Expo & Fair in the Mid-Ohio Valley is geared to take off Apr. 10th at the West Virginia Interstate Fair Grounds, in Mineral Wells, WV, off exit 170 on I-77. The two-day event, Saturday, April 10th from 9 AM to 6 PM and Sunday, April 11th from 12PM to 5 PM, is sure to have something for everyone. Admission is $3.00 and children under 12 are free. Parking is free. Roy Clark, Jr and Friends will be performing on Saturday, April 10th at 2:00 PM. South of the River Band will be performing on Sunday, April 11th at 2:00PM. Dave Fleming, expert from Greenleaf Landscape Inc will be discussing landscaping do's and don'ts, what's new in plants varieties, and how to deal with deer, molds and other pest. Home Depot experts will be discussing a proper plant care, landscape lighting, and gardening issues. Woodcraft professionals will be demonstrating wood turning and Wood-Mizer will be there demonstrating their portable sawmill. On display will be new and antique tractors, antique flywheel engines and antique cars. There will also be activities for the kids including rock wall climbing, gemstone panning, kiddie tractor pulls and Home Depot professionals will be helping kids build their own birdhouses. Froggy and Smokey Bear will be there along with a magician and cartoonist. Kids will love the magician and enjoy having their picture sketched by a professional cartoonist Free lawn mower blade sharpening service will be offered during the event. Individuals can bring their mower blade and get it sharpen while browsing the vendors at the expo. Casey's Landscaping will be giving free samples of food prepared on the new Napoleon Gourmet Grill. There will be raffles and prizes during the expo. A gas grill, 10 - .22 rifle, Stihl chain saw, Stihl trimmer, lawn mower, lawn care kits, and much more will be given away.
